It is no secret anime makes everything better. From war to death to deadly monsters to even disgusting creatures are embodied as anime’s key features. One particular idea that anime seems to improve and change is sports. While those who watch anime, speaking from personal experience, have no interests in sports, sports anime seems to change their opinion. As the over top and anime signature is written all over the sport, with their dramatic pauses, impossible techniques and amazing underdogs stories we all come to appreciate. From the shows like Kuroko no Basuke, Haikyuu, and Hajime no Ippo, just to name a few, anime fans come to understand and appreciate what sports are about.

Robot x Laserbeam, while sounding like a bad fanfic of robots, is actually the story of Hatohara Robato or Robo , a stoic somewhat bored character who discovers the world of professional golfing. And yes I said golfing. Seems boring right. Well that’s where you’re wrong. Written by the creator of Kuroko no Basuke, Robot x Laserbeam is anything but boring. It takes the concept of probably one of the most boring sports, and turns it into an anime spectacle.  Truly a great sports manga to join the rest. All that's left is to get an anime adaptation to see how truly amazing the animation aspect will be. The plot, albeit a bit repetitive and well used, doesn't fail to excite as Robo is up against odds as he faces golfing opponents similar to a shounen battle series. I truly recommend this series to anyone looking to get into the sports anime genre or just likes a fun manga to read with an enjoyable plot and interesting characters
